Kevin's Story

It isn't just the work ethic that has caught my eye, but also the positivity that the staff has managed to keep up while shouldering their work.

A letter from Kevin W:

"I currently am residing in one of the group homes that CRi owns: Kensington Street. I hope you're doing well and having a great day.

The reason I'm writing you is because I wanted to give a shoutout and kudos to the CRi team currently working at Kensington, because I feel as if they've really done a good job going above and beyond for the people who live there.

Over the past year it has not been lost on me that there have been times where a staff member has had to work harder than usual, just due to changing staff and the intensity of demand that the job of managing the eight residents here requires.

But it isn't just the work ethic that has caught my eye, but also the positivity that the staff has managed to keep up while shouldering their work. In fact unless you were watching closely, you would not believe that the status quo was any different, because the staff continue to treat their charges with respect, enthusiasm and dedication.

To round out this letter, I simply would like to thank CRi, and their employees for doing such a wonderful job in this day and age. I feel proud to know these wonderful individuals, and hopefully if we meet, I can tell you in person!

Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day!"

Embracing Challenges

COVID-19 challenged the disability support community, & the world, in ways no one could have imagined. Social isolation, program closures, health & safety concerns, staffing shortages, & policy changes are just a few examples of the pandemic's impact on an industry that already works harder than many to support some of the region's most vulnerable populations.
