Is CRi a Nonprofit?

Yes. CRi is a 501(c)(3) organization and is recognized by the federal government at a private nonprofit.

Is CRi a licensed organization?

CRi is licensed by the DBHDS. All services provided are regularly overseen and audited. Details of specific licenses are available through our main office.

How is CRi funded?

CRi is funded through a combination of Medicaid, government-funded contracts, and the generous support of individuals and organizations that share our passion to serve people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and severe mental health diagnoses. Public funding only covers basic services. Donations from individuals, companies, and foundations provide the remaining critical funds needed to help individuals in its community live their most fulfilling lives.

Admissions

 

How do I make a referral and/or contact the Admissions Office?

What general steps do I need to take for my loved one to be welcomed into a CRi program?

Begin by filling out the online request form. From there, the requestee can be connected to the appropriate team to discuss the next steps. 

Does the admissions process vary according to the request?

Yes. Every admissions process is customized according to county, program, and individual and family needs.

Can I tour the Newbrook Day Program? 

Newbrook offers group tours on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30 pm.

What are all the different payment methods that CRi accepts? 

CRi accepts Medicaid, county funding, private pay, and state funding.

Services

 

What services does CRi offer to individuals with Intellectual and/or Development Disabilities? 

CRi offers Tenant Support Services (TSS), Behavioral Therapeutic Consultation, skilled nursing support, in-home and supported living services, a day program, and community homes to individuals with I/DD. Learn more

Which Mental Health services are offered at CRi? 

CRi provides Targeted Case Management (TCM), skills-building support, and Tennant Support Services (TSS) to individuals with mental health needs. Learn more.

Is the LIFT program a Mental Health Service? 

Yes. LIFT (Living Independently for Tomorrow) is a Mental Health Service provided by CRi to youth aging out of foster care. Learn more.  

What is an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF)?

Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) are residential, Medicaid-funded homes that provide 24/7 support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  

CRi has residences throughout Northern Virginia and in the Richmond area. Visit the Our Homes page for information about each residence. 

What are all the different payment methods that CRi accepts? 

Intellectual Disabilities (ID) homes, or Med-Waiver homes, are group residentials that services individuals with a primary diagnosis of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as well as other co-occurring medical and mental health diagnosis. 

To qualify for an ID home, individuals and their caregivers must have a BI, CL, or FIS waiver and be on the Community Service Board (CSB) waitlist. 

CRi has 10 licensed locations: 9 homes and 1 apartment. 

What are all the different payment methods that CRi accepts? 

Mental Health (MH) Group Homes serve individuals receiving case management services and who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI) and co-occurring medical and/or substance use disorders.
