With over 18 years of experience in healthcare and nonprofit organizations, Hamza is committed to
fiscal integrity and operational excellence. He has led financial operations for entities with revenues
exceeding $150 million, developing and executing financial strategies that balance sustainability with
impact. He has used finance as a strategic tool to advance mission-driven work, including supporting
mental health crisis care services. At District Healthcare Services, Hamza led initiatives that increased
net profit by 51% within a year via improvements in revenue cycle management, forecasting accuracy,
and expense optimization. He reduced accounts receivable days by 66% and improved cash flow by 20%
year over year. At Unity Healthcare, he implemented cost-saving measures that estimated to deliver
over $3 million in operational efficiencies while maintaining quality services.
Hamza partners with CEOs and executive teams to shape strategic direction and support service line
expansion. In these teams, including as CFO for North Spring Behavioral Healthcare Inc, he has ensured
that financial decisions reflect both organizational priorities and drive impactful mental health
treatment services. His experience with nonprofit finance as well as various Medicaid programs enable
him to ensure financial integrity while leading CRi staff in living the organizations’ values of responsible
stewardship, transparency, excellence, and community empowerment.
Ensuring accountability and compliance have also been central to his approach, resulting in multiple
organizations achieving clean financial and Single Audits under his financial leadership. Along with
providing regular financial reporting and insight to Boards and Audit Committees, Hamza has
strengthened internal controls; ensured adherence to GAAP, HIPAA, and federal grant regulations; and
negotiated indirect cost rate agreements with federal agencies. He has efficiently modernized financial
infrastructure to enhance transparency and decision-making. This success has come from his expert
knowledge of data-driven environments, ERP and financial management systems, including Workday
Financials, JAMIS, and Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT. His accomplishments include transitioning
organizations from cash to accrual accounting and formalized revenue recognition in line with ASC 606
standards.
As CFO, Hamza ensures the fiduciary responsibility of CRi and its affiliates, including managing the CRi
Foundation Endowment. These broad duties involve regular attendance at Foundation Board meetings
along with close coordination with CRi’s Controller. These broad functions allow Hamza to implement
his commitment to collaboration and partnerships. Beyond accounting, Hamza has always been deeply
committed to leadership development, building and mentoring high-performing finance teams that
value accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
