This well-deserved recognition celebrates Ursula's exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We had the pleasure of speaking with Ursula to learn more about her journey, her passion for person-centered care, and her aspirations for the future.
A Leader in the Making
Ursula's journey at CRi began nearly eight years ago when she joined the team as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP). In this role, she honed her skills in developing individualized service plans, supporting individuals in achieving their goals, and ensuring that staff provided effective support. Her passion for empowering others and her dedication to person-centered care quickly shone through.
Today, as Program Manager, Ursula's focus remains on maintaining a high-quality facility, providing comprehensive training and orientation for staff, and ensuring that individuals receive exceptional services. She is a strong advocate for open communication and collaboration, serving as a key liaison between the agency, families, stakeholders, and the public.
Ursula's personal values align seamlessly with CRi's mission. She believes in the power of choice, respect, and independence for all individuals, regardless of their abilities. She is passionate about recognizing each person's unique strengths and potential, as well as fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.
Growth and Inspiration
Reflecting on her journey at CRi, Ursula shared that completing the ANCOR Leadership Foundation program has been a pivotal experience. The program provided her with invaluable insights into leadership and helped her define her own leadership style. Her nomination for the Rising Star Award has been a tremendous source of encouragement, affirming her growth and impact as a leader.
Looking ahead, Ursula is excited to continue developing her leadership skills and contribute to CRi's ongoing success. She is passionate about empowering others and creating opportunities for individuals to shine. She believes in the importance of teamwork and collaboration, fostering a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Beyond CRi
Outside of work, Ursula is a dedicated wife and mother of two daughters. She is also actively involved in her tribal community, where she holds a leadership title. Her commitment to community engagement and her passion for making a positive impact extend beyond her work at CRi.
