Celebrating Unity and Progress in Richmond, VA!

CRi and DBHDS Celebrate New Mental Health Home in Richmond: A Milestone in Collaborative Care

Last Thursday, July 18, CRi, the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), and local service providers and advocates gathered in Richmond to celebrate a significant milestone: the opening of a new home dedicated to supporting individuals with mental health needs. The day was a remarkable testament to the power of collaboration and shared passion towards a common goal.

While the open house itself was a highlight, the true essence of the event lay in the camaraderie and goodwill among those present. Smiling faces and a sense of unity and purpose filled the home as everyone came together to acknowledge and celebrate hard work, support, and the power of community.

Partnerships are critical in the realm of mental health care. Last week's Open House showcased the dedication of selfless individuals and organizations working towards a shared vision: to provide best-in-class care to all residents of the Commonwealth. The presence of CRi, DBHDS, and various local providers and advocates highlighted the collaborative spirit that drives our steadfast progress.

Participants shared stories, experiences, and ideas, fostering a sense of solidarity and mutual respect. This is not just a program; it is a symbol of the positive impact that can be achieved when like-minded individuals and organizations join forces to provide top-of-the-line care. It represents a safe haven where individuals with mental health needs can find the supports and community inclusion that they deserve and is a beautiful reminder of the power of collective action and the difference it can make in people's lives. It celebrated the progress made so far and reinforced the ongoing need to continue to improve mental health services in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this effort. Your support is truly appreciated and, together, we will continue to make strides in mental health care.
